This is a new blog for people who have stayed/ visited 437.

The intention is just to recall the time spent in that place. 437 was not treated as a basecamp/ bacelorcamp but as a home.

About 437 i will write in my other post but here's a quiz to start with.
The purpose is not to get all correct answers but to cherish the time we spent at that place.
So give it a shot:

How many people came to 437 initially when first shifted and from where?

What was the name of the maid servant before Mukti?

Who said this "Meerut se hai hum". What was his address?

Who used to sing after switching off the lights?

Once electricity was cutoff by the UPSEB. Why?

What was the Land Line number of 437?

Who was the visiting chef once cooked upma for morning breakfast.

Who was the carrom champion?

Who were the two multani people who met for the first time in 437. What was there conversation?

Who used to come from work and open one of the shoes and watch TV for 10 minutes and then open another shoe?

Who had a bicycle?

Who said this "Kismat hai yaar"?

Who was the non drinker who used to be part of most of the parties?

Who used to visit 437 and when asked to stay would say "Ab meine socks pehen liye hai, so i have to leave"?

Who used to play guitar at 437?

Its a little difficult to answer every question through a 'comment' so lets take only a couple of question per post. That way, we will have more posts.

I would d try to answer first two now.

Q1- How many people came to 437 initially when first shifted and from where?

A1 - I think Syal answered it correctly. Probably I didn't read it well and would have answered it incorrectly. Here's a more detailed answer.

Manish and Ravi shifted in a yellow-black taxi from Malviya Nagar, Avinash has rented a rail-bogey-kind-a-flat there, for some reason we dont know,. I have a follow-up question "What was the address of that flat" ?

Nandan, Alok and Alok's wife came in a 407 from Chandigarh. I think tewari should be there as well but I am not 100 % sure. The house was in a mess and Mrs Alok was very agitated with Mr. Alok for dragging her there :)

Q2 - What was the name of the maid servant before Mukti?
A 2 - There was this lady who was pretty fail in house-hold work and we were very happy when we got Mukti. I am fogetting her name. Infact She introduced Mukti as a back-fill resource while she enjoys her Sabbatical. After she was back, she wanted to resume work and we had to politely refuse her.

By the way there was one more female (more presentable and much well spoken) who did cooking for some time along with Mukti.

agar sahi se yaad hai to rail-bogey-kind-a-flat ka address B-4/7 tha. aur makan malik ek puppy the.

Meerut se hain hum----
tewari reminded... hamare ghar ke upar (I think 436) valon ne bola tha - jab water tank se related problems thi and the only way to go to terrace was through their home.

---who initially arrived---
I had taken the question incorrectly as well -
I thought it was I who went to that house first. Rent par lene ke liye. uske baad Nandan aur maine jaakar final kiya tha.
and follow-up question for Nandan:
there was a forewarning given to us - what was that and by whom ?

electricity bill ---
Ravi ke sign match nahi karne se cheque bounce ho gaya tha... aur phir 12 mahine tak draft jama karana parha tha.

question:
whose dialog it was - game hi galat hai.

and who was the hoopla champion?

For the hoopla I liked the way rahul use to move it. By the time he tries to move his body hoopla was lying down on the ground but rahul use to still do it in doggy style.

I think Nandan can be rated better in hoopla skills though Rahul's style was unmatched :)

Some un-answered questions from original post.

Who was the visiting chef once cooked upma for morning breakfast.

Karthik Rangamani I guess.

Who used to come from work and open one of the shoes and watch TV for 10 minutes and then open another shoe?

Avinash…. off course.

Couple of new questions :

- On which weekday we used to have feast during dinner time with multiple eating options other than usual dal chawal stuff.

- Who used to cook on that day (or only that day in week) :)

1. Initially when we first moved. Nandan, me, Alok and Lavaniya came from Chandigarh in Tata 407. Manish and Ravi came in a cab from Malviya nagar.

2. At least we remember that there was a maid before Mukti. I don’t remember her name, may be kantaben.

3. Our upstairs neighbor Satinder's Dad (or whatever who used to work in Lufthansa) said Meerut ke hai hum, pata bhi nahi chalta aur murder ho jata hai.

4. Nitin Pandey used to sing after switching off the lights.

5. Electricity was cutoff because Ravi's signature did not match on the check. Due to this we had to submit a draft every month for the electricity bill. This went on for a year.

6. Landline number of 437, I know that but cannot write as a measure of identity theft. BTW the Landline phone was classic one. The receiver had to be put on the cradle in a specific position other wise it won’t ring.

7.Rahul V once stayed over and cooked upma in the morning.

8. This is a conflicting question. But everybody knows who lost the first 10 games in the new carrom board at MSyals place.

9. Two multani's who met at 437 were Durga and Pankaj. Durga asked Peecho Keet and Pankaj said acchi hai. He though Durga asked him about Biccho movie. But in actual Durga was asking where in Multan are you from.

10. Who used to come from work and open one of the shoes and watch TV for 10 minutes and then open another shoe?
Every body got this question right. Avinash ofcourse.

11. I had the bicycle and at various occasions used to trade it off for bike.

12. Neeraj one of MSyals friend said "Kismat hai yaar"/

13. Maneesh Shek's was a nondrinker who was part of most of the parties.

14. MSyal used to say "Ab meine socks pehen liye hai, so i have to leave"? .

15. Guitar and Harmonium were played by Nandan.
